Flying To The Lodge
You should know several things about planning your trip to the lodge. You’ll spend one overnight in Seattle and then depart for Alaska early in the morning. Alaska Air is the only commercial passenger carrier landing at the Petersburg Airport. It only makes two trips here per day. Island Point Lodge personnel will meet you at the airport and transport you by van and boat to the fishing lodge. Arrival day is on a Saturday, and departure day is the following Friday morning.
Things To Know About Your Flight
Here is a quick guide for some things to know and pack for your flight into Petersburg, Alaska.
- We do not recommend coolers because of the shipping cost.
- Regulations do not allow you to carry knives or guns on the plane. Leave them in your other luggage.
- Have your name, address, and telephone number on all luggage.
- Your hand-carry bag should contain the necessary clothes and items for the overnight stay in Seattle.
- Bring minimal clothing, something you can wash or throw away.
- If you bring your rods, the airline may charge you for them.
- Those traveling in a group can save money by combining their rods into one case to save room. If several group members have rod holders, duct tape them to make one piece of luggage.
