3. No Car Rental Costs
No need to get a car rental, as the island doesn’t have roads! However, you’ll be assigned a boat, and all the equipment necessary upon your arrival at the lodge. We ask at least one person in your group to have some experience operating crafts with external motors.
4. All Meals Provided
A full hot breakfast is provided daily. For lunch you can make your own sandwich according to your plans for the day. If you plan on heading out after breakfast you can pack your sandwich and enjoy your lunch out on the water. Dinner is served in the early evening, both breakfast and dinner times will be posted daily. Please let our cooks know of any dietary needs, so they can plan meals accordingly during your stay. Island Point Lodge provides coffee, tea, tang and lemonade.
5. Guaranteed Fishing and Fishing Boat
Our Petersburg Alaska fishing lodge is set up for the experienced fishermen who’ve operated outboard motors on small crafts. The driver must know how to read nautical maps. All our boats come equipped with safety vests, coast guard approved emergency kits, ropes, anchors, oars, pails, bait containers, and coolers. After receiving your room arrangements and a brief orientation you’ll be free to start fishing! If your group is interested, we can also provide halibut and salmon saltwater charters for an additional charge.
6. Fillet and freeze fish at no cost
Not only do we offer homie lodging for your week-long trip, we’ll also fillet all your fish and freeze them for you!
7. Right on the Water
Our Petersburg Alaska fishing lodge is located on the island of Kupreanof. You’ll be able to fish the Ducan Canal, Frederick Sound, Wrangell Narrows and Sumner Straights. Catch award-winning fish on this trip, from King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Chum Salmon to Halibut.
